Jaime Ditto

Principal

Ms. Jaime Ditto is the Principal at Silverado High School in Las Vegas, NV. She has spent her entire educational career in the Clark County School District. She attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she earned Bachelor’s Degrees in both Social Studies and Special Education as well as a Master’s Degree in Special Education. She earned a second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Ms. Ditto has held administrative positions in Elementary, Middle and High School. Prior to becoming an administrator, she was a Special Education Teacher for 10 years.

Cyndi Castro

Assistant Principal

Ms. Cyndi Castro is an Assistant Principal over athletics and Title IX at Silverado High School. She attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and Secondary Education. After completing her first two years of teaching, she attended the University of Phoenix and earned a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. Prior to her appointment at Silverado High School, she was a Physical Education and Health Teacher for 22 years and a Student Success Facilitator for 1 year.

Bianca Lutchen

Assistant Principal

Bianca Lutchen is an Assistant Principal at Silverado High School. She attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and German. After college, she was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to work as a cultural ambassador in Offenbach am Main, Germany. She moved to Las Vegas to continue her teaching career as a special education teacher. She received her Master's Degree in both Special Education and Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Krysta Ortiz

Assistant Principal

Krysta Ortiz is an Assistant Principal at Silverado High School. She attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in biological and earth sciences. She later attended Touro University Nevada, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Ortiz began her teaching career at Foothill High School in 2006 and continued to teach and lead at the site for sixteen years. Ms.Ortiz has experience teaching across all high school grade levels ranging from special education to Advanced Placement (AP) courses. She served as the Department Chair for the science and foreign language departments, and served as the Girls Head Volleyball Coach for fourteen seasons. Prior to her appointment at Silverado High School, Ms. Ortiz earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University (WGU).

David Staves

Assistant Principal

David Staves is an Assistant Principal at Silverado High School. He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and a Minor in French. After graduating from UNLV, he worked as a ticket agent at Reno Air and a Resolution Specialist at American Airlines. After the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Mr. Staves was inspired to seek a career in education. He earned a Master’s in Education from the University of Phoenix and began working for the Clark County School District in 2004. He started his journey as an educator teaching second grade and fourth grade. In 2007 he became a Visual Art Specialist for kindergarten through fifth grade. In 2017 he became a Visual Arts Teacher at the secondary level. Mr. Staves most recently was a Drawing and Painting teacher at Coronado High School, where he taught students in grades nine through twelve and served as the Department Chair for Visual and Performing Arts. During his years of teaching, Mr. Staves gained experience serving various students, including those in many types of Special Education programs, Advanced Placement courses, and English Language Learners. He earned his Master’s in Educational Leadership at Touro University.

Brian Castro

Assistant Principal

Brian Castro is an assistant principal at Silverado High School.  He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Physical Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Fitness Management. He later completed a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Western Governers University. He has worked in education for 28 years, teaching Physical Education at Valley High School, Centennial High School, and Green Valley High School. Throughout his career, he has taken on numerous leadership roles including head track coach, head football coach, department chair, athletic director, and Student Success Instructional Facilitator. His work in both athletics and academics has focused on supporting student achievement, leadership development, and school community engagement.
